Netherlands 5 – 1 Spain

It was an astonishing scene.

A lovely game that people thought would have been evenly matched and perhaps Spain starting as favorites to come close to repeating what they did to the Holland team in the 2010 finals.

Instead, it was quite the unexpected as the Netherlands outplayed their opponents and beat them with a resounding 5 – 1 scoreline.

And they came from behind to achieve this feat. It was a remarkable game. And manager Louis Van Gaal was elated to see his side accomplish this with the help of Robin Van Persie – who he will be in charge of at Manchester United after the World Cup – and Robben who each scored 2 goals.

If only the rest of the competition would turn out this exciting.
